Safety

The fire-place in the living room will be lit upon your request. Always keep the fireguard in place in front of the fire for safety. Remember to starve the fire of wood before you go to sleep and ensure the fireguard is in place in front of the fireplace! An outdoor fire pit is available and can be lit on request any relevant details or information that you want to share with your visitors.
A hand-held fire extinguisher is available in the kitchen.
Reducing our environmental foot-print
We use solar energy for lighting and water heating. Run your shower for a minute or two for the hot water to flow. Turn the cold water tap on first to the full, then the hot tap and let it run, gradually increasing the hot and reducing the cold until you find a suitable temperature for your shower.
On cloudy days the hot water may be limited. One shower runs on electricity as back-up if nature doesn’t cooperate.
